Let’s see, I posted about Hannah’s VERY loose tooth last Friday, right? The one that was literally hanging on by a (very strong) thread…
Well, I have an update on Tooth Watch 2009.
As we were driving on extremely slippery, dangerous roads down to visit friends on Friday night, I suddenly heard a very surprised exclamation from the back seat:
“Hey, my tooth fell out!”
So not only did her tooth fall out in the van, but she had no idea exactly when it fell out or where it went after it fell out. She simply went to go wiggle it with her tongue – and it was gone.
I was pretty sure that we’d never find it. Even if she hadn’t accidentally swallowed it, teeth are tiny and there are a lot of places for one to hide in a van – or worse yet, in the snow if it ended up there when she got out of the van.
But, I promised her that I would look. And I did as soon as we’d finally arrived at Mary’s, and I unloaded all of our stuff.
And wouldn’t you believe it – I lifted up her booster seat, to find an uncooperative little tooth hiding underneath. So we were able to place it under her pillow that night and the tooth fairy managed to find her, even though she wasn’t sleeping at home. With limited access to funds (bad roads can affect tooth fairies too, you know), Hannah received four quarters (two of which were Canadian even) instead of a dollar bill, but she didn’t seem to care, thankfully.
So remember that smile from just the other day? The one that led me to give Hannah the nickname of “One Fang”? What do you think it looks like now?
Well, a certain little fang-less girl was bound and determined not to let me show you. She would not let me take a picture of her new smile – which, of course, made me just as determined to get one.
Oh yes, I’m up for a challenge. Especially where a certain stubborn little drama queen is involved…
So I got plenty of pictures of Hannah over the weekend. Pictures of her like this:
Like this:
And this…
This…
And even this:
But, I am nothing if not patient. And I knew that it was just a matter of time before she’d either give in, give up – or succumb to a bribe.
Not that I bribe my children, of course. Nope, never. Ever. And I’m sticking to that story.
Whatever the means, I did finally manage to get not one – but two good photos of Hannah’s new smile:
Yep, ‘Toothless’ she is – but not for long. As you can see, the new tooth is already poking quite far through, as is the other top front tooth.
Watch out, Abby – she’s catching up!

Love the new grin — what a cutie!
I can’t believe you actually found the tooth — way to go Mom! Oh, and I love Hannah’s “uncooperative” shots — we get a lot of those around here too — LOL!!

Jake’s got two loose teeth right now and I am convinced that the one won’t last the week! What happened to our babies?

So cute. I love that she has her little tongue stuck through the little gap. Congrats to her.
