I debated about whether or not I wanted to do a tackle post this week, since I really don’t have any fun pictures or anything to share.
But, I am sharing my ‘to do’ list for the day because I really do have a ton of things to do today, and also because having the incentive – the accountability even – really helps me to keep on track.
Besides – after having Ron home for over 2 weeks now, and with having been gone all weekend myself… Let’s just say that the entire house needs to be tackled today. Believe me, it’s definitely not a stretch. Unfortunately.
But that will have to wait until after I get out and get some other errands done first.
The most important thing I have to tackle is to stop by and register for work (again) in order to apply for an extension to my unemployment. So far, after 6 months, I have both been unable to find a new full-time job, or any other option that would replace the income I was bringing in. And so we wait – and hope – that the extension will be approved. Because I can’t even think about what would happen if it’s not.
I also have several other errands to run while Becca’s at daycare for the morning. The post office will be one of my stops, as will a local craft store where I’m signing up for a year-long ‘Block of the Month’ knitting class. It’s free – one huge plus – and I love the idea of having both a specific project to work on every month, along with the fact that I’ll have to actually get each block done within that month’s time. I’m really excited – I’ll be picking out my yarn and making sure I’ve got the correct needles to get started later in the week.
Lastly, I’ve got a couple of items to return/exchange. A package of ‘D’ sized batteries that we ended up not needing for Christmas presents, and one of Becca’s toys that broke right after we opened it. Thankfully I still have the box and receipt, so I’m hoping they’ll have another one, since it’s something she really, really likes.
That’s my list for the day! Hopefully the weather will cooperate so I can get out and get everything done. And if not, well it’ll be a chance to attempt to whip my house into shape. At least somewhat.
Happy tackling, everyone!

I’m dealing with the Attack of the Concerned Teachers this week. That’s probably all I can deal with now.
