I always feel like I go through ‘re-entry’ on Monday mornings. Back to the ‘real world’ of work, school, daycare, activities… It’s a bit of a shock to the system after a weekend of (usually) doing as we wish. Oh we have weekends filled with commitments and activities as well, but so far this winter, most of them seem to have been rather empty – which suits me just fine. Not that we don’t go stir crazy and need to get out of the house, but it’s nice to be able to choose when and where to go.

Anyway, here it is – Monday again, and I wanted to go through some of the tags and awards that I’ve received to participate in Meme Monday. I’m getting caught up, but am still leaving a few for next week as well. So, here we go!

I was tagged with the Groundhog Meme a few weeks ago by Tammy at Mom Knows Everything. I know it’s way past Groundhog Day now, but I’m feeling rather annoyed with the groundhog at the moment, so I thought I’d do this anyway. I won’t tag anyone else with it though.

5 reasons I love/hate the Groundhog. After listing 5 reasons (no rules in listing reasons), tag 5 people plus giving credit to the tagger.

1. It seems like I can only think of once or twice that the groundhog actually has predicted an early spring. And honestly – I really don’t want to know. If it is going to be early – surprise me! And if it’s going to be 6 more weeks of winter – I don’t want to know.
2. I think all of the hoopla over Groundhog Day is probably very disturbing to the poor little guy, who really has no idea of what’s actually going on anyway.
3. I was really, really hoping the groundhog would predict an early spring this year. I’m a bit miffed that he didn’t. I think this has been the longest winter ever.
4. I really don’t think about the groundhog all that much, so coming up with 5 things is actually a lot harder than I thought.
5. I always wondered why seeing his shadow meant a longer winter since (at least here in Michigan) seeing the sun is usually a sign that spring is near…
