I have so many things to do – both today and in general – and I’m not even sure where to start.
I doesn’t help that I’ve got a nasty cold and feel miserable. And therefore am not motivated at all to do much of anything around the house. So pretty much the whole house needs to be tackled.
Except for the kitchen floor, which I did manage to finally sweep and mop – and I’m not even going to tell you how long it had been since the last time that job had gotten done.
And I’m not sharing any pictures of it either – yes, it was that bad.
I also tackled something else over the weekend. I finally broke down and dyed my hair. I’m to the point now where over 50% of it is gray (at 37 – isn’t that crazy!!), and since it had been probably about a year since I last dyed it – the bottom half was brownish with silver threaded through it, and the top half was a good mix of dark and silver.
Here’s a before shot. I don’t like pictures of myself – one reason is that the camera flash tends to reflect and bring out the silver in my hair so it’s much more obvious than in person (I think anyway). Ron took this picture of me and the girls about a week or two ago:
And here are a couple that I took right after dyeing it. I think next time I might go to a lighter shade of brown instead of trying to match my natural color. Once it starts to grow out a bit, the silver roots are going to be horribly obvious against the dark brown – which is one main reason I hadn’t dyed it in so long. I just hate having to keep up with it.
Ugh – I still hate pictures of myself. Just imagine me about 50 pounds lighter, ok?
So why the sudden decision to finally dye my hair? Well, I had a job interview yesterday – and whether or not I actually get the job (I still haven’t decided which I’m hoping for), I realized that I needed to look closer to my own age – not only in terms presenting a more professional image, but also to make me feel at least a little better about myself. It’s the little things sometimes, I guess.
I’m heading out in a few minutes – I scheduled Ron for a slew of appointments today and thankfully he was able to get today off. He’s getting his eyes checked this afternoon, we’ll be doing some business at the credit union in a little while – but right now I’m taking an early lunch hour so that Ron and I can tackle something very important, that we’ve put off for way too long.
Getting our wills done.
I know – not something that’s necessarily very pleasant to think about. But absolutely necessary. And we’re doing it right now, since we can currently have them done for no money out of pocket, through my work’s insurance coverage. Which, we’ll be losing soon – so hence the urgency.
And then tonight – I’m going to have a self-imposed break from the computer and try to get to bed early, so I can hopefully get rid of this darn cold.
What are you tackling this week? And check out other Tackle It Tuesday posts over at 5 Minutes for Mom!

Your hair looks great. I am still honored to have been with you the first time we dyed your hair. Do you remember? I think it was in the apartment with Connie. We need to get our will done too…also been putting it off way too long.

Maybe because I’ve only had the stray grey hair here and there, but I’m ok turning grey. I figured I have a teen……I EARNED it!
Lots to do today for sure! Good luck getting it all done! And yes, wills are important. We probably should update ours.

I LOVE the picture of you and the girls. They will treasure it as well. NEVER be ashamed to take pictures of you with them. They will always adore them. (I really do need to follow my own advice, though)
