Thank you!
Welcome to the very first week of “I Remember When…”! For those of you who may have missed the explanation of what this new meme is all about, check here. And for everyone else – just a quick little reminder of how this works.
This post is sticky (will remain at the top of my blog) and will be posted through the end of the week (next Saturday). At the bottom is a Mr. Linky – there’s no particular day to participate, just link your post up whenever you have it written and posted. And check back during the week to see who else has posted!
This week’s topic is:
“I remember when… I first moved away from home“. Whether to college, living with a friend or family member – what are your memories of the first time you lived away from home?
Remember, you can take on this topic in many ways – through writing, photos, lists, poetry… Be as creative (or not) as you wish – these memories are yours to share however you want to.
Please try to visit other participants if you can – but above all else, just have fun sharing!
My own post will be up later today, and I can’t wait to see (and read) what all of you come up with as well. Thanks so much – and hope to see you back here again next week, when the topic will be:
“I remember when… my family celebrated autumn“. Did you visit a pumpkin patch, farm market or apple orchard (with school or your family)? Did you go every year or only once in a while? Or never? What are your memories of the things your family used to do together at this time of year (even if just acknowledging it in small ways)? Whatever your memories are related to autumn, share them – starting on Sunday, October 12th, at MomOf3Girls.net!

I’m not sure if I’m posting this in the correct section, but, I remember when I left for college. I went to community college for 2 years so I stayed with my parents. But when I transfered to a college only 2 hours away, my parents were more nervous than I thought.
After they left, 2 hours later, I get a call. It is my dad. He sounded chocked with tears. I said what’s wrong. He said I’m looking at your picture at home and I miss you already.
Then I started crying too. Goes to show, now matter how old you get, you’ll always be a parent. Now that I’m a parent, I know how he felt.
Blessing to all parents!!!
Oh this is so true – I’m discovering the same thing, now that I’m a parent as well. Thanks so much for sharing this!
