Links and other fun stuff – 11/1/08

Just some quick links and fun stuff I found around the web this week:

First off, please don’t forget to enter my current giveaways over on my other site:

  • A copy of the Melee ‘Devils & Angels’ CD (enter by 11:59 pm EST on November 1st).
  • A party package (25 invitations or notecards, 3 iron-on transfers, and 25 printed return addresses) from Buds and Buddies (enter by 11:59 pm EST on November 2nd).
  • A $25 Apple Gift Card, courtesy of Ciao.com (enter by 11:59 pm EST on November 5th).
  • Five packs of the ‘original’ Bella Sara trading cards (enter by 11:59 pm EST on November 6th).
  • Three prize packs of ‘pink’ products from Procter & Gamble (enter by 11:59 pm EST on November 7th).

This week’s reviews were for the Photofiddle custom artwork from photos website, KINeSYS Kids Sunscreen, Goosie Cards customized flash cards, the book Ariel’s Journey, and Uncommonly Cute infant and toddler t-shirts.

Other new posts this week include the 100 Days of Holidays site over at BHG.com, a heads-up on a great contest you can enter to win a Disney Fairytale Vacation, a heads-up on a new ‘healthy eating’ initiative at Playhouse Disney and a cute new short show premiering soon, a heads-up on how you can help families (thanks to Graco) who can’t afford carseats for their kids, an initiative to promote flu shots, and which of the over 800 entrants won the Starbucks Gift Card:)

I also posted a heads-up about my upcoming Holiday Gift Guide over at the other site – if you have (or know of someone else who has) a product that might be perfect to include, please check out how to contact me about it!

There are more fun giveaways coming next week too, so stay tuned (and subscribed)…

This week’s Contest Round-Up is up over at the other site as well. And don’t forget to check the Contests page during the week – there are some pretty awesome giveaways happening around the blogosphere so you don’t want to miss out on your chance to enter any of them!

Some interesting posts I read this week on other sites include:

  • Trisha over at MomDot posted a great explanation of how to become a review blogger – and a list of sites that you’ll want to check out if you are interested in getting into doing product reviews.
  • If you’re looking for a children’s bible for your kids, you’ll want to check out this one, that Sarah at Short Stop gave away this week. She also had an interview with the author!
  • If you’re looking to lose weight, or just to get more fit – check out Fitness Fridays over at I’m A Drama Mama. At the very least, stop by and help her choose a a button design!
  • Emma from It’s Write Now shared a post she found about how to move a blog from one host to another – definitely something to check out if you’re thinking about changing hosts.
  • And also more on the ‘technical’ side, here’s a heads-up from Blogging Tips on a WordPress Plug-in that will let you automatically add content (like a signature) to the end of your blog posts.

Don’t forget to ‘Remember When’ here with us this week, when our topic will be:

I remember when… I had my first crush”. Did you chase boys around the playground? Or moon over that gorgeous guy in homeroom? Whatever your memories are related to your first crush, share them – on Sunday, November 2nd, at MomOf3Girls.net!

So we’re making the trip out of town this weekend that fell through last week, I’ll update and share with you all when we return.  Hope you all have a great weekend! :)
