2009 in Review

For the past two years I did this after originally seeing it over on An Island Life. And again I figured that it would make a perfect Thursday 13 list as well, with the absolute most popular (most viewed, according to Google Analytics) post from the entire year as #13.

So without further ado, here are my most popular posts for each month of 2009 (not including Wordless Wednesday or Aloha Friday posts). And this year I’ve included the first sentence from each post as well and linked back to the 2009 Blog Carnival Recap over at Musings of a Housewife as well, even if I didn’t quite follow Jo-Lynne’s rules of using the first post of every month. Oh well, call me a cheater, lol. Enjoy!

January – Why is this morning different from all others?

Hmm, let’s see… At 6:55 am, I was awakened by Abby – 5 minutes before my alarm was set to go off.

February – Why I blog…

Almost two years ago, I sat down at my desk and started typing.

April – Holding my little ones just a bit tighter…

A couple of weeks ago, during the Ultimate Blog Party, I attended one of the live events – a performance by Chris Mann, hosted at the house of Heather Spohr in Los Angeles.

May – I ? Silhouettes

This week’s theme is “Silhouettes” – which is a bit different from most, since you can’t really make out a face in a silhouette.

June – Once upon a time…

There was a beautiful princess.

July – I ? … Feet!

This week’s theme is “Feet”, so no faces – just cute toes, ankles and such.

August – Yesterday I did something I hadn’t done for a good 25 to 30 years

I cleaned dirt and grit off of a badly scraped knee, and gently placed band-aids over the bloody wound.

September – Tackling… A bedroom (yes, again!) and the dreaded linen closet

A few weeks ago, Abby’s room got a complete, two-part makeover.

October – “The flu has hit our classroom”

These were the words that greeted we parents as we dropped off our preschoolers this morning.

November – I ? “Autumn Beauty” Faces

This week’s theme is “Autumn Beauty”, which is, of course, appropriate given the time of year.

December – Hannah, age 7

For the past few years, I’ve done a Thursday Thirteen (or now a Thursday 13) post about each of my girls as their birthdays came around.

And the most popular non-giveaway post of all for the entire year (not counting any of the above posts) was It’s a bird… it’s a plane… No, it’s a superhero birthday party! which is the second year in a row that my description of our friends Carlos and Cheryl’s birthday party for their son DJ was the top post. Guess that puts the pressure on again for 2010, right Cheryl? LOL
