I grabbed the camera as we were leaving this morning so that I could take some pictures to record how much snow we actually have right now. I don’t remember it ever getting higher than our front porch – at least not in the 5 winters that we’ve been in this house.
But it is right now:
And yes, our driveway, which our neighbors very helpfully had cleared again on Monday for us, needs to be cleared yet again. I wonder if Ron will get to that since he’s home today…
If the snowfall keeps up, pretty soon we’re going to have trouble getting into our mailbox!
Abby and Hannah wanted me to take a picture of them out at the bus stop (the tallest one is our neighbor’s daughter).
Ugh – the snow (while pretty) is driving me nuts! It’s been too cold for the kids to play outside in it, driving in it is a huge mess, and my (cheap) boots have ripped and now leak, so I’m stuck with wet socks every time I come in from outside.
But as I drove east toward work, after dropping Becca off at daycare, I was struck by how beautiful the sunrise was this morning. The cold, crisp air, the blue sky (something we don’t see often in the wintertime here in Michigan!), the sun peeking out from under the clouds… I stopped for gas and while the pump was eating away at our bank account, I took a few photos – very glad that I still had the camera with me.
My camera doesn’t do the sunrise justice – or at least I don’t know how to use the right settings to better capture it. Here’s a few more of my attempts – you can see the sun creeping higher in each one…
Soon after I took this last one, the sun disappeared into the clouds, and I headed here to work, filled with the wonder and amazement at this great world and the beautiful things God created within it. Even now, as I sit here at my desk typing this (on break!), I can still see blue sky (as well as a few lazy snowflakes falling) outside. Yes, more snow. Pretty to watch, but I’m hoping that the flakes will let up soon. Because -
I forgot yet again to put the snow scraper in my van… Sigh.
For those who are wondering – the photos in this post were added using a ‘Polaroid’ plug-in for Windows Live Writer. This is how I was able to put the ‘frame’ around and tilt them.

Hey! You changed your blog! When did that happen?
Our snow looks about like yours. Every time it snows, I wonder where we are going to put it. Those piles we keep shoveling off the driveway keep getting higher and higher.
Yes, I was wondering how you did that with the pictures. Too cool! I downloaded Windows Live Writer when you mentioned it, but I haven’t installed it yet. I was just thinking that this morning. I really need to try that out. It looks great.

WHAT TIME DO YOU GO TO WORK? School was cancelled here today, we have about 4 inches, followed by sleet, followed by rain. It is pretty. Love the new blog platform!!!

Oh yuck – that’s definitely worse than just the plain snow. Especially once all that rain re-freezes into ice… I hope your weather improves too! I was running a bit late this morning (the whole stopping for gas part), but these pictures were taken right around 8:00 am.

Okay, I admit that I missed the sunrise today because I decided to give Noah a snow delay since I didn’t feel like trying to drive the icy highway while it was still dark.. I got him to school around 9:00 and it was still treacherous.
As of now, the SUN CAME OUT for the first time in about a zillion days. I had forgotten what it looked like.

I like your new look. I’ve been reading in the Google Reader, so this is the first time I’ve seen it! I like those little page-fold thingies.

Wow, never thought I’d say, “That’s too much snow!”, but I do believe it applies here.
I guess I’ll be thankful for our beautiful Spring like weather and stop wishing for snow. heehee
